Ski coaching toward BASI Qualifications

SIX DAY WEATHER

Swyss as a brand was the creation of 2 ski professionals that day in day out live for skiing. Everywhere in Europe, France, Les 3 vallees and in particularly Courchevel there are 2 names that continuously crop up, gaining respect from all those working in the skiing industry the experienced Dave Beattie and the youthful Blake Williams are the people to know.

Dave Beattie

An experienced and naturally gifted skier, he now runs both a successful ski school and ski tour operator in Courchevel, France and Kaprun, Austria. Working as a BASI trainer(British Association of Ski Instructors) for over 15 years Dave has assessed hundreds of potential instructors, whether it be be for a foundation course or for the highest level of qualification he is well respected amongst all those involved in the ski industry. Many would consider Dave a fitness fanatic, growing up being involved with football and running he has now switched his energetic lifestyle to cycling.

Blake Williams

Blake grew up with his major sports being football and squash, competing at county standard in both sports and then progressing to semi professional level in football he has always had a sporty background.

Discovering skiing unintentionally when he was taken on a sightseeing trip to Scotland at the age of 8,it happened to snow at the time and skis were rented. Blake was willingly dragged across a snowy field with a ski pole by his parents and it was from there his love for skiing blossomed. His parents saved and managed to afford to pay for him and his Mum to go on a budget trip to Austria. Loving every minute of skiing, it was his destiny to work in the ski world. Moving to Courchevel in 2006 where he met co-founder Dave Beattie ,he began to master the art of skiing, mixing in the right crowds, and passing all ski exams first time he gained respect from all those around him, to a point where he was training with current and ex national team members, English, Scottish, French and Argentinian. Blake passed the notoriously difficult Eurotest in 2009.
